Urgent Need for Action: Contact Your Senator Today. Take Action!
We can impact legislation which will determine how Hospice care is reimbursed.

Please join Hospice of Warren County and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) help our Hospice Champions in the US Senate on an important letter intended to make sure that any future changes to hospice reimbursement methodology is informed by comprehensive data. The Senate must hear from you – the hospice community- that this issue is critically important and that you want your Senators to join this effort. Senators Harkin (D-IA), Roberts (R-KS), Collins (R-ME), Wyden (D-OR) and Lincoln (D-AR) are circulating a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, offering Congressional clarification and guidance regarding the appropriate data points to inform any revisions to hospice reimbursement.

NHPCO supports the data points outlined in the letter and wants to make sure that the Senate sends a strong, bipartisan message to the Secretary that any hospice payment reform must be informed by extensive data collection.

What can YOU do? Write your Senators today to ask for their signature on the Harkin/Roberts letter. If you have any questions, please contact, or call our Hospice office at 814-723-2455. You’ll also find more information and helpful links at the Action Network at

Thank you for being a Hospice Advocate!
